The team you'll meet on site

  • You meet the owner. Not a salesperson.

Evan La Motta is the founder, the carpenter on-site, and the person replying to your enquiry — every time. No call-centres, no quote-and-disappear, no unfamiliar crews turning up to your property.

  • Honest advice on repair vs. replace.

Sometimes a fence needs replacing. Often it just needs new posts, deeper footings and a sleeper infill at the base. We'll tell you which call saves you the most money — even when the smaller job is the right answer.

About

Meet Evan.

"I'm on-site, making sure everything's done right — and probably hand-digging that hole to save your yard from getting chewed up."

Five years ago I started working for myself, believing that if I worked hard enough I could build something of my own.

What I didn't realise at the time: running a business isn't freedom — it's responsibility. The face behind the fences.

I'm Evan La Motta — founder, owner, and the carpenter you'll meet on every job. Brisbane born and bred, Italian and Greek by heritage, raised on strong coffee and loud family dinners.

Rugby and athletics taught me the value of hard work, attention to detail, and pushing through when the work demands it. These days I still train hard — not just for the trade, but for my biggest role: husband and father of two.

When you choose La Motta Group, you're not hiring a faceless crew. You're hiring a small Brisbane operation held to a single standard — on site, on time, and willing to hand-dig the post hole to keep your garden in one piece.

Common questions

Before you book.

Every question Evan answers most weeks — written out plainly so you know exactly what to expect.

Do quotes cost anything?
No. Evan visits the site in person, takes measurements and talks through materials and styles at no charge. No obligation either way.
Are you QBCC licensed?
Yes. We hold QBCC Licence 15 342 689 — a properly licensed Queensland fencing and gate contractor, fully insured and registered with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.
How long does a typical fence replacement take?
Most residential boundary replacements (around 30–40 metres) take two to four working days from start to walk-through. Larger projects and acoustic builds take longer. We give you exact timeframes during the quote.
Can you repair my existing fence instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Rotted post bottoms, leaning posts and missing palings can usually be fixed with new posts, deeper footings and a sleeper infill at the base. We give you honest advice on whether a repair will hold long-term, or whether full replacement is the better investment.
What materials do you work with?
Treated pine and hardwood timber palings, painted picket, modern black timber, acoustic-rated overlapped palings, concrete sleeper retaining walls, and custom timber gates. Colorbond isn’t our specialty — we’ll happily refer you to a dedicated Colorbond installer if that’s what your project needs.
Do you build pool fencing?
Yes — pool-compliant fencing built to AS 1926.1, the Australian standard. Council certifier sign-off arranged on your behalf if required.
What is your service area?
Greater Brisbane — Beenleigh in the south to Caboolture in the north, covering Logan, Moreton Bay and everything between. If you’re unsure whether we cover your suburb, get in touch.
